The Verlaines - Death and the Maiden

Hmm, that's a bit odd - here's a more conventional link.

Bunnies!

one step ahead - split enz

notable.. well because it's egg timer music (music & memory thing for me) but also because apparently it played on the first day of MTV, didn't know that before.

and watch it through if you can handle the pic & sound being out of synch, because late in the piece when they all start dancing, eddie rayner does the moonwalk. in 1981!

i want your hands on me - sinead o'connor

i remember the first time i saw this (probably on rock arena) i was 11 and had just bitten the bullet and started to grow my hair out of its short back and sides ready for high school. saw sinead and wondered if it'd been entirely necessary

Ah, yes, I'd just be nodding off in front of the TV at about the time Rage played that one. (This was before I had a VCR.)

This is the clip they always play when some guest programs Pink Floyd's Axe song. A truncated cut of a live performance in Sydney from 1971.

FINALLY, someone uploaded this to Youtube: The Bureau - Only For Sheep

Uh oh - this could get ugly.

Feeling B - Artig

A revelation, at least for me. All other Eastgerman music that got played was really shitty. The singer, Aljoscha, is dead and Paul Landers and Lorenz Flake went to Rammstein.

Just for Bravus:

A couple of nice Jethro Tull tracks, from the Songs From the Wood and A Little Light Music albums respectively.

Performed live in 1982 - check out the guest drummer!

The Who doing an absolutely kick-ass live version of Baba O'Reilly.

I don't know what Townshend had with his Weeties that day, but I want some! Big Grin

Best live band ever (IMHO) I love how casual entwistle is when he's playing.

It's not just your opinion, they were the best live band ever.

After John E. died, some magazine article referred to him as 'The Temple of Anchored Watts', which I'd never heard before and sums up his style up so cleverly. Also, imho, he was the godfather of goth.
